2010 FECA Spring in the Park event took place at the Bryant Park Grill

Over 350 guests gathered at the Bryant Park Grill, May 25 to celebrate the many accomplishments of a 15 year partnership between FECA and the Devereux Foundation.  As FECA President Melanie Schaffran stated in her remarks, "Devereux came to our aid at a critical time, when all doors were closed to us, as we tried to open a school for the many children in our area with autism."  A fortuitous connection brought the two groups together and in 1996, the Devereux Millwood Learning Center opened its doors to 12 children.  It currently educates 48 students in 8 classrooms and last year the partnership was extended to include a new adult program that will double in size this year.  Devereux Foundation CEO Robert Kreider accepted the award of appreciation on behalf of the many staff members who work with the students of DMLC.
